Measles In-Flight Exposure Continues in New Zealand!

Pro-med reports that Measles continues to spread in New Zealand following an incident of in-flight exposure to the virus. The Regional Public Health Service reports that 12 people may have the disease, 9 of whom were on the Emirates flight from Dubai-Brisbane-Auckland on 11 January 2011. The latest report suggests the possibility that the disease has spread beyond those who were passengers on Emirates flight EK434. Public health officials report that most of the cases are confined to West Auckland, although 1 case presents in Wellington. Health officials are currently attempting to trace people who have been in contact with those who have confirmed cases.
