43 people hospitalized for A/H1N1 flu in the Netherlands

For this blog, wanting to look at news in Western Europe, I decided to check out the HealthMap website. There was one outbreak indication in the Netherlands. Since the middle of October, at least 43 people have been hospitalized due to A/H1N1 flu. Most of these cases were registered in Nijmegen, an eastern Dutch city. Two children of that city died in December of last year. This past Thursday the AMC hospital in Amsterdam reported four cases and the UMC Utrecht reported six. However the report explains that “there should be no fear for a pandemic crisis.”
